I am back with another bundle for you all! As we all are busy celebrating Thanksgiving and Halloween, New Year is gonna come very soon before you even realize it! Get ready for New Year with our Free Personal Goals Planner. Don’t forget that your best year is yet to come!
I am always a planner girl. Writing loads of pages about plans and goals and completely forgetting what to focus on! We all are there. We have big plans. But we fail to accomplish them within a specific timeline. We always fill up our to-do lists but fail to relate them to our BIG GOALS!
Here is the deal. You don’t have to go errands. And you don’t need to face all the overwhelm. All you have to do is, just need to follow the specific steps I used to make my life easier! If it works for me, it works for you too! I may plan for a different goal but the process of splitting it would be same. I have set my timelines, in your case you have total control over what you want to achieve in your timeline! Just take a deep breath and grab a cup of coffee before you read further! We are in this together girl!
Plan for a successful year
I have BIG GOALs for 2019. Really BIG GOALs that the thought of achieving them makes me sick! I can’t sleep when I get the thought of achieving them by 2019. I always end up waking up till 2 A.M. in the night just planning over and over again in brain on how to achieve them. End result? I miss out on what I need to the VERY.NEXT.DAY. Period. Were you in a similar situation anytime? All that overwhelm we go through. We want to do so much but the anxiety that makes us fail. Uh! Let’s take over the anxiety and overwhelm together! Let’s DO THIS!
Important! Whatever I am going to share now, is something you want to do in a free time and with complete focus. You can pin this article and come back later for doing your homework.
My very first step in achieving goals is to set what my goals are! DREAM BIG and WORK FOR IT! Grab a piece of paper or two and categorise the paper into following sections:
- Personal Goals
- Work or Professional Goals (Can be your day job/school etc.)
- Family Goals
- Financial Goals
- Educational/Learning Goals
Here I am separating Personal, Family with Finance. I want to track it differently. Let’s discuss what each category is all about.
This is the place where you are going to scribble your dreams. I would say you can put a lot into this bucket. For example, I am going to put my get fit by March 2019 in this category. As well as get a new hobby. Anything that is related to you, put in this bucket. There can be a 100 things you want to achieve. Feel free to jot down all of them on this paper and then you think of prioritising. Done with your list? Let’s move on to other bucket.
Work or Professional Goals
You might be working hard to get that promotion or you are planning to that degree that you are dreaming of. Nevertheless, your goals does matter! Not everyone care about your goals, but you are the one planning for it. Let’s make them BIG!
Write down your professional goals. You may want to work from home or you want to be VA or a blogger or anything on this planet! Write them down! You don’t have to share it with anyone if you are not comfortable. It’s okay to keep your goals and plans with you but don’t forget to achieve them! YOU are the sole owner of your life! Take control of your life!
Here comes the sweetest part of life. F.A.M.I.L.Y. I can’t stress enough that you should have family goals. Make time for your family. Plan for it. A year before! Yes you read that right! In this busy life, we always tend to work our back off and spend a very little with our family. How long it have been that all your family is at dining table laughing, sharing stories and having food in peace. There is no hurry that someone should show up at work. There is no pressure that someone is going through that they can’t enjoy the dessert. Everyone is happy and the atmosphere is joyful.
You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars for it. You don’t have to sacrifice your job for it. Just plan ahead of time. Plan a vacation this year. Save money for it and go enjoy the time. You don’t have to go to Hawaii. You can just sit at home for ten days playing card games! If you are drowning in debt, you don’t have to plan for a vacation outside your home. Plan it in your home with your kids. Play with them! Cook your favourite meals and sleep tight! You deserve it!
Now go ahead and add goals for your family!
I separated finance goals from personal and family. Because I treat them differently. I have plans for my happiness and plans for my family. Finance goals is something that I pay more attention to. I don’t want to combine this into personal or family because this is the main factor which catches our most attention and we forget about other goals. Keep it different. Have a financial goal for 2019. BUT plan your family and personal time too!
You live only once dear! Don’t make your life miserable by just paying bills. Take a break and enjoy the present. I am not suggesting you to go spend a ton of money and bankrupt yourself. Within your limited budget find a way to relax. Have fun. Enjoy a sugar candy like a kid!
Coming back to financial goals, keep track of your bills and pay checks. Save some money for future. Pay your EMIs. Try clearing your debts if possible. And most importantly, plan for a day off whenever it is possible!
Damn! When I was a kid, I kept saying myself that I have to study hard to complete high school and I can enjoy life. After that, I though I just need to complete my graduation and I can be free. After graduation? Should I say a word? It is a NEVER ENDING PROCESS girl! You NEVER STOP LEARNING. If you do, that is the end of your growth curve!
You should be learning at every point of life. Life teaches you great lessons. Sometimes it hits hard on your ego or emotions. But you learn. Period. You should learn from your mistakes so that you will never be in that situation again. You should learn from others mistakes too. That is where your learning curve grows to the roof!
Let us say, one of biggest goals for 2019 is converting my blog from expensive hobby to a place where I can pay off my blog related expenses. I earn living from my day job. And I have no issues with getting bread and butter! Although, I don’t want to be in a situation where I have to shut down this blog to cut my expenses. Not more than that! Here is a place where I share my passion with the world! I want to keep this place alive!
In order to achieve my biggest goal of 2019 I need to learn. I need to learn how to drive traffic to my site who are interested in my work. Who love my work. I also should learn how to create planner inserts that you guys love. Isn’t it the fact that if you love something that we always tend to share with our friends and family? There is so much involved in this. I can’t say how many things I have already planned for you guys but trust me, when I keep something on my blog along with lots of love I put my heart and soul into it.
Your turn on what to learn
In your case, plan to learn something new in 2019. Don’t be lazy. Education is important in every part of life. If you cannot spend on it, no worries! There are tons of resources online which teach you for free. Use them and keep adding new skills to your stack.
Take sometime and scribble your goals on the paper. You might come up with more than you can achieve in a year. That always happens with me. It’s okay. Just write your thoughts and dreams in one place. Once you complete scribbling your goals download my FREE Personal Goals Planner printable.
How to prioritise your goals?
I don’t recommend you to concentrate on more than 4 biggest goals in a year. Why? Because the more we focus on multiple items the more we get tend to slowdown ourselves in achieving them. Be clear of what you are going to achieve in New Year.
From 5 categories mentioned above, pick the one from each category. You will end up with 5 Goals. Of these 5, you can mark one as the less priority one. I am not suggesting you to pick 4 goals from one category. NO. DON’T DO THAT. Pick one from each category. You end up with 5 GOALS. Of these 5 mark one as the less priority one. You can mark as Education less priority if you are concentrating more on your work where you eventually going to learn something new to achieve your goals. Or you can mark Personal goals as the less priority one because you are stressing more on your family goals where you are involved in taking a vacation. It is up to you to mark which as the less priority one.
What I am going to do?
It makes me nervous to share my goals with the world. But I am doing it for you. So that you get more clarity on how to achieve your goals.
My goals for 2019 are:
- Personal Goal – Get fit. The reason I am going to stress on this is my heath complications. I need to get this done at any cost. No overeating. Get moving. Stop being a sloth.
- Work/Professional Goals – I am giving less priority to this one because I feel that I am capable of doing what is expected from me. I don’t need to spend hours of my personal time to get better at it. I am also not expecting any promotions or awards/rewards. Period.
- Family Goals – I am planning for a vacation with my family. If possible I would plan for another.
- Financial Goals – I want to save money for medical expenses. I do save some money for future expenses but I want to save specific to medical bills.
- Educational/Learning Goals – I always tend to learn a lot on blogging. For some reason I love to read about blogging. Though I don’t blog about blogging, I constantly learn and apply about blogging. This year, I have so much to learn. I spent a ton of money on some courses and bundles on how to serve my audience better. Let’s see if you guys love what I am doing or all of that is going in vain.
By looking at my goals, I think you get some idea on how to prioritise your goals. Don’t throw away your paper where you have written you goals. Save it for later. We have some work with it too.

Yearly Goals Planner
First add your top 4 goals to your Yearly Goals Planner and then add your stretch goals. Stretch goals are the ones which you want to achieve when you have time. Let us say I planned to Get fit in Personal Goals section. I also want to maintain a beautiful planner by end of 2019. This is my personal stretch goal which is not top priority but I still want to do it. You can add as many stretch goals as you want but make sure prioritise them as well. Without priority you will be jumping from task to task without a proper progress.
Quarterly Goals Planner
I suggest you to print this page multiple times because you want to track each goal separately. In my case, I would pick my get fit goal first and mention that in first quarter of 2019 I want to be at 62KG (Yes I am sharing my weight here open on the internet. I am not ashamed of what I look like. It is me and I am what I am). That means I am splitting my goal of getting fit into 4 parts. You can do that with your goals and write what reward you are gonna give yourself! Rewards are extremely important to keep you stay on track. Make sure you share your rewards on social media by this you are holding yourself accountable for the next one. You don’t have to say people why you are rewarding yourself! But share your happy face! These make memories!
This is the place you are breaking it down into pieces. I go crazy while doing this. It is difficult when you are doing it for the very first time. But trust me. It gets better with time. You don’t have to stick with what you have planned today till the end of next year. You can always go back and change. It is just a draft that you are preparing. Your action plan can change at any point of time, all you have to do is write that action plan and stick to it!
Before writing think of it. What you to do in a month to achieve your quarterly goal. Don’t focus on your yearly goal. Focusing on yearly goal might give you anxiety every time you look at it. It is your tiny bit where you are focusing just for a month. Divide your quarterly goal into three parts. In my case in order to be at 62KG by end of first quarter I need to loose 3KG per month. Which is easily achievable for many but not me. So I kept my goal which I can achieve without hurting my organs and worsening my current health.
Think of what you can achieve. It should be logical. Don’t keep tough targets and burn yourself out. As I always say, you only live once. Live it happily with balance in your life. Don’t overdo anything.
Goals Reward List
This is my favourite part. I love to add things from Wishlist on e-commerce sites as rewards here. Am I the only one to do so?
Add your goals and rewards list. Many times you tend to achieve more than you have planned for. Try rewarding yourself more in those scenarios. 😀
This is the place where you can view all of your goals in one place. You might have written four or more Quarterly goals for each goal you have broken down into pieces. Consider this place as overview of what you are going to achieve in each of the 5 categories you have planned for. You can always go back and change your planning list if you see yourself burning out.
There is a two page monthly calendar in vertical view. One page Monthly calendar in horizontal view (both Sunday and Monday start). Use these to add high level tasks you want to do on each day. For me most of the work will be on weekends. Because I still work 9-5 and beyond that at day job. I work on weekends to fulfil my passions. I can add some exercise tasks on each day. Occasional shopping or dine out on weekends.
You can use our habit tracker for any month. All you have to do is check them on the day when you have done it. keep them blank when you have not done. Mask the days when a particular month has less than 31 days. For example February mask those 29,30,31 days.
Year in Overview
This is advanced form of habit tracker. Where you can track a single habit for the entire year. In above habit tracker you can track more than one habit. One example can be No Spend days! This is popular among habit trackers!
We have created our goals for 2019. Track your tasks for those goals each day. Remember 1000 miles journey start from single step! Go ahead and start your little baby steps towards your goal.
I keep different password for different sites. That is what I suggest others too. If one site’s password is stolen, it should not impact other sites information about you. You may forget your passwords or just want to keep track of sites where you have signed up! Go ahead and add your details into Password Tracker. It also covers subscription sites where you have auto payments set up or you are paying some amount on monthly basis.
Daily Planners reduce much of overwhelm in life. Write down what you want to do in a day and stick to your tasks. This way you complete your task with full focus.
Weekly Planner can be used to track your goals at weekly level. You can always skip things if you don’t like to. You don’t want to spend much time planning and doing nothing beyond. Choose the one which makes you more productive.
